BATHROOM FIXTURES COME IN A WIDE VARIETY OF SHAPES AND FINISHES.

Choosing fixtures is adding the final touch to any bathroom remodel or overhaul. How do you choose the right ones for you? It’s all about deciding on what look is best and which features you need for the budget you have to spend. Today’s faucet’s don’t just emit water, they conserve water and can change the feel of the water itself. If you can dream it, there’s probably a fixture that can make that dream a reality.

Lake Michigan Heating, Cooling,  Plumbing recommends that our customers visit the Ferguson Showroom if they are planning a comprehensive remodel. The Ferguson Showroom has a very wide selection of quality brands and products. Their product consultants can help guide you to making the best selection for your sink or bathtub. For smaller projects, we will direct our customers to Delta and Kohler’s websites so they can choose something that appeals to them.

THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF CHOOSING FIXTURES IS TO MATCH THEM TO YOUR SINK. THIS MAY SOUND SIMPLE, BUT THERE ARE MANY FAUCET TYPES, INCLUDING:

  • Single-hole faucets
  • Center-set faucets
  • Widespread mounts
  • Minispread mounts
  • Wall-mount faucets

You will have to factor in the openings in the sink and match them to the faucet. The most common type of faucet is the center-set faucet. Keep that in mind if you are replacing a faucet on an existing sink. If you want a wall-mount faucet, you’re most likely going to have to replace the sink as well and adjust your plumbing.

Once you’ve chosen your faucet type, you should evaluate faucets to see if they match the style and size of your bathroom. There are always trends in faucets. You can decide whether you want to follow fashion or go for a more traditional faucet look in your bathroom.

There is also an entire spectrum of faucet finish types to choose from, so many that you might be overwhelmed by the possibilities. Do you know the difference between polished chrome, brushed chrome, brushed nickel, hammered nickel, and stainless steel? These are all possibilities today, and it’s the main reason we recommend our customers spend time looking at actual faucets, preferably in person in a showroom. Fortunately, today’s finishes are designed to be beautiful and to last as long as the faucets themselves.

Finally, there are additional features in faucets. All faucets manufactured after 1992 are designed to conserve water, but there are also low-flow faucets, laminar flow faucets for silkier water delivery, motion-activated faucets, and even sanitizing faucets. The sky is the limit in bathroom fixtures.

Take your time in choosing your bathroom fixtures. Bathroom remodels are major projects, and you want to be happy with your choices and make sure they work for your whole family both now and in the future. When you have made your faucet selection, Lake Michigan Heating, Cooling,  Plumbing can start work creating your new bathroom!

Our Neighbors Love Us

Dan and company were very prompt, efficient and fixed the problem at my Mothers’ house quickly. We were very happy with their service and how quickly they could come to fix the problem. I would highly recommend them.

Professional and knowledge. They did a great job identifying the problems we were having with our boiler. While other HVAC companies were telling us to replace our unit completely, they knew exactly what to fix to get us up and running, saving us thousands of dollars. I will be calling on them for future repairs I might need. Thank you, Daniel and team!!

Eva S.

Daniel and Aiden did an amazingly quick job responding to and repairing my broken furnace over a weekend. Cheers Gents!

Daniel installed an Eternal Water Heater and we absolutely love it! He was quick and very knowledgeable about his products. The quality of his work is second to none!

So we have to get a shout out to Lake Michigan Mechanical. They were the only ones who could come do the repair today, everyone else was like three days or more out. They were really cool and made the best out of what was a really stressful day for us!! They were really respectful of keeping our door shut when they went in/out (you would not believe how many animals of ours have gotten out due to home repair people) and they cleaned up after themselves!! So far the hot water seems to be working great!

I highly recommend Daniel with Lake Michigan Mechanical. Not only is he super friendly but he very professional and knows his stuff. I bought a new house and of course the current water heater died within a months time of buying the house. Daniel and staff were in and within 24 hours of me noting the problem we had a new heater. Thank you so much for great work!

Daniel and the entire staff are very responsive. I have used Lake Michigan Mechanical throughout the years. They are professional and charge a fair rate. Both Nigel and Brandon did an outstanding job fixing my old A/C unit and installed the NEST thermostat. Well done gentlemen! Also, most recently installed a tank-less water heater. Once again did outstanding work by Daniel and Team!

Lauren M.

Very patient, great job educating us on the issue and explaining our different options

Amanda Z.

Very professional and efficient job done. I recommend this technician highly!

The phrase first impressions are lasting impressions rings true with Daniel VanderHyde. He rescued us one Saturday morning after we tried “fixing” our leaky shower faucet ourselves. Hoping he could not only undo what we’d done, but be able to fix it without it being a major project was our biggest concern. And he did just that! We were very impressed with the pride and care he put into his work; he was truly a professional.

Jamie & Christie H.

These folks were very knowledge and we love the straightforward pricing.

Satisfied Customer

Daniel came right down to fix a pump that was broken on a machine and the timing… was critical, he had a very difficult task completed promptly and I was returned to productivity faster than expected. Thank you I’m very happy.
