Lake Michigan Heating Cooling Plumbing (Lake Michigan) is happy to announce a recent donation of $2,000 to Folds of Honor Michigan. This nonprofit organization provides scholarships to dependents and/or spouses of fallen or disabled US service members and first responders.

“We selected Folds of Honor for this particular donation because those who defend our freedoms and families deserve our unwavering support,” said Daniel VanderHyde, President, Lake Michigan Heating Cooling Plumbing. “When we first learned about Folds of Honor, we were immediately inspired by their service to provide for our community’s fallen veterans and first responders and assist with the large tuition burden for local families. This is truly admirable to us.”

Folds of Honor has been meeting sacrifice with hope since 2007, providing more than 44,000 life-changing scholarships totaling nearly $200 million.

The Higher Education scholarships are awarded to the spouses and children currently attending or recently accepted into a 2-year or 4-year degree program at an institution of higher education or a vocational/certification program.

The Children’s Fund scholarship seeks to support dependent(s) enrolled in grades K-12. Funds may be used for private school tuition, educational tutoring, an approved/accredited homeschooling curriculum, and required books and uniforms.

“On behalf of Folds of Honor, I want to thank Lake Michigan Heating Cooling Plumbing for their generous donation. Your support will significantly impact the lives of the students we serve,” said Bill Flohr, Regional Impact Officer, Folds of Honor Michigan. “Our scholarships empower families from every walk of life through education and the opportunities it creates.”

By providing students with financial support for their education, Lake Michigan hopes they will have a bright future ahead of them.

“We hope that our donation has a significant difference in the lives of not only the students who receive the scholarships but everyone they come in contact with, creating an exponential positive impact in our communities,” Daniel said.

Lake Michigan’s support of Folds of Honor is just one of the many ways our company invests in our communities. Lake Michigan has also supported Harmel Academy of the Trades, Sacred Heart Academy, Allendale Christian School, Saint Vincent De Pauls, Toys for Tots, and Once Warm Coat.

“We believe that giving back to our community is an essential part of being a local business, and we remain committed to supporting Folds of Honor and other nonprofits in the future,” Daniel said.

So we have to get a shout out to Lake Michigan Mechanical. They were the only ones who could come do the repair today, everyone else was like three days or more out. They were really cool and made the best out of what was a really stressful day for us!! They were really respectful of keeping our door shut when they went in/out (you would not believe how many animals of ours have gotten out due to home repair people) and they cleaned up after themselves!! So far the hot water seems to be working great!
